Callum Hudson-Odoi ordered to pay £1,100 after admitting failure to tax his McLaren supercar. Details inside.
Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has been fined more than £1,100 after he failed to tax his £200,000 McLaren supercar, a court has heard.
The 24-year-old former Chelsea star admitted failing to keep the blue McLaren 720S Spider properly taxed between July and December last year.
Hudson-Odoi, who earns a reported £80,000 a week, was ordered to pay a total of £1,108 by magistrates in Nottingham.
The court heard that the vehicle was seen on a public road without valid tax. Hudson-Odoi’s lawyer said the player had simply forgotten to renew the tax disc and had now sorted the issue.
District Judge Leo Pyle said: “This is a serious matter. The vehicle was unlicensed for a significant period. However, I accept it was an oversight and you have now rectified the situation.”
Hudson-Odoi was fined £660, plus a victim surcharge of £264 and costs of £184.
The winger, who joined Forest from Chelsea in 2023, has been a key player for the club this season, contributing several goals and assists.
Fans have reacted with amusement on social media, with many joking that the 24-year-old could easily afford the fine. One fan tweeted: “He earns more in a day than that fine. He probably didn’t even notice.”
Hudson-Odoi’s Season in Numbers
Hudson-Odoi has made over 20 appearances for Forest this season, scoring four goals and providing three assists. His pace and dribbling have made him a fan favourite at the City Ground.
The incident is unlikely to affect his playing time, with manager Nuno Espirito Santo expected to continue selecting him.
Forest are currently pushing for a top-half finish in the Premier League, and Hudson-Odoi’s form will be crucial in the run-in.
