"pragmatic" and "disciplined"

Why Jakirovic's praise for Everton matters for Hull City

Jakirovic's assessment of Everton as 'pragmatic' and 'disciplined' is a notable compliment from a Premier League rival manager. It suggests the Hull City boss saw a well-organised, hard-to-break-down opponent — the kind of side that can frustrate teams at the MKM Stadium and on the road. For Hull City supporters, the remark hints at the tactical challenge the Tigers faced.

The lack of further detail in the source means we cannot confirm the scoreline, the date of the fixture, or whether the game had already taken place when Jakirovic spoke. What is clear is that the Hull City manager was willing to credit Everton's approach after the two clubs met in the Premier League. That alone is a talking point for a Hull side competing in the top flight this season.

Hull City's own performance is not addressed in the source, so no conclusions can be drawn about the Tigers' display, selection or result. The focus of the VAVEL.com report is squarely on Jakirovic's words about Everton, and those words are unambiguous: 'pragmatic' and 'disciplined'.
