Brentford 2-2 Crystal Palace: Dango Outtara Double Fires Bees to Stunning Fightback in European Chase
Dango Outtara scored twice as Brentford came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Crystal Palace. Keith Andrews' side remain in the hunt for a European spot.
Brentford staged a remarkable second-half comeback to earn a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace, with winger Dango Outtara scoring a brace to keep Keith Andrews' side firmly in the race for European qualification.
The visitors took the lead in the 14th minute when Eberechi Eze's free-kick was deflected past Mark Flekken. Palace doubled their advantage just before half-time through a clinical finish from Michael Olise, leaving the Brentford faithful fearing the worst.
Outtara's Heroics
However, the Bees emerged from the tunnel a transformed side. Outtara pulled one back in the 52nd minute, latching onto a through ball from Christian Nørgaard before slotting past Sam Johnstone. The equaliser came 20 minutes later as Outtara rose highest to meet a corner from Mathias Jensen, powering a header into the top corner.
European Hopes Alive
The result keeps Brentford in 7th position, now just two points behind the top six with seven games remaining. Keith Andrews praised his team's resilience: "To come back from 2-0 down against a quality side like Palace shows the character we have. We're not giving up on Europe easily."
