Bayern Munich plot 2027 move for Leeds United defender Tarik Muharemovic

Bayern Munich are pushing Tarik Muharemovic high on their shortlist as a leading target for 2027, according to TeamTalk. Leeds United have no intention of selling the 23-year-old in January and value their defender at £60m-plus.

  • Player: Tarik Muharemovic, 23-year-old defender
  • Current club: Leeds United, joined July from Sassuolo for up to £34m
  • Interested club: Bayern Munich, with Inter Milan also attentive
  • Leeds valuation: £60m-plus rated asset
  • Contract: Signed through to June 2031
  • Club stance: No January sale, no sporting or financial need to sell

Deal details

Leeds signed Muharemovic from Sassuolo in July for a fee worth up to £34m, tying him to a contract until June 2031. Bayern Munich have reportedly made him a top target for 2027, while Inter Milan remain attentive after missing out in the summer.

Newcastle, Bournemouth and Sunderland all made checks during his Sassuolo period, and Juventus were drawn into the picture because of a sell-on clause. Leeds value the defender at £60m-plus but have no intention of selling in January, with a mid-season deal regarded as out of the question at Elland Road.

Why Leeds United will resist Bayern Munich's interest

Leeds United are in a position of strength. Muharemovic only arrived in July but has already become one of Daniel Farke's most important players, offering balance on the left side of defence and authority in duels. With a contract until 2031, the club holds all the cards and has no financial pressure to sell.

Sources insist Leeds have absolutely no sporting reason or financial need to cash in halfway through his first season. Even if interest grows, it will take something extraordinary for the club to consider selling their prized defender. Bayern may admire him, but admiration does not create a deal.

Muharemovic has quickly adapted to the Premier League, contributing a goal and an assist. His performances have led to reports describing him as one of the best left-sided centre-halves in the world. That trajectory has raised his value sharply from the original £34m outlay, and Leeds now believe they have a £60m-plus rated asset on their hands.
