Can you name all 43 teams relegated from the Premier League?

Wolverhampton Wanderers became the 43rd club to suffer relegation from the Premier League. Since the league's 1992 inception, 43 different teams have dropped through the trapdoor – but how many can you recall?

The list spans three decades, featuring clubs like Oldham Athletic, Swindon Town, and Barnsley. Only seven ever-present sides have avoided the drop entirely: Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Aston Villa (relegated in 2016 but returned).

Why this matters for Wolves and this season

Wolves' relegation in 2025 was confirmed after a 2–0 defeat to Everton. It marks the end of a seven-year top-flight stay that saw them finish 7th twice and reach a Europa League quarter-final. For manager Gary O'Neil, it's a test of resilience: can he bounce back like Sean Dyche did with Burnley in 2023?

From a tactical standpoint, Wolves struggled with set-piece defending all season, conceding 17 dead-ball goals (second-most in the league). Their expected goals against from corners was 12.4, highlighting a systemic issue.

Financially, relegation costs an estimated £100m–£150m in lost revenue. Wolves must now rely on parachute payments (£40m in year one) and player sales to rebuild. Key assets like João Gomes and Max Kilman could be sold to balance the books.

For Fantasy Premier League managers, Wolves assets will plummet in value next season. Pedro Neto, if he stays, could be a differential in the Championship – but his injury record (missed 18 games in 2024/25) makes him a risky pick.
