SPORTSMANSHIP is the founding principal of the league. Any action requiring disciplinary attention is taken very seriously. The Head Referee is in charge of all disciplinary recommendations, and will be supported by the LAPL Board. Foul language or malicious taunting is not tolerated, directed at either the Referee or another player, and a player who uses it is subject to a card at the referee's discretion. Yellow cards warrant a temporary removal from the game. Red cards are an automatic one game suspension as well as expulsion from the current game. Red cards that involve 'violent conduct' as perceived by the referee (such as but not exclusively: elbows, punches, forceful pushing outside of play, kicking, spitting) will be subject to permanent expulsion from the league. There is a zero tolerance policy toward such behavior. Abusive language towards the referee is subject to a card at his discretion. Any player or fan who makes physical contact, or makes threatening gestures or threatening comments towards the referee is subject to permanent expulsion from the league. Managers who play a player who has received a Red Card in a previous game may have their game forfeited. Managers who play an illegal non-roster player will have the current game in question forfeited, as well as the previous two wins forfeited (for a total of a 9 point deduction).
