LA Premier League : Referee - Alex Gorin

ALEX GORIN is the "Law", as he has held the coveted post of LAPL Head Referee since the league's inception in 2002. From 1985 until 1991, he was a National Referee for the Premier Division of the USSR Professional Football League. Since 1996, he has held the National NISOA Referee title.
Today, when not busy with overseeing the Los Angeles Premier League, he has been granted special permission by the board to moonlight as a NCAA Division One referee. He was rewarded for his consistent and solid judgement on the field with a selection to participate in the 2005 NCAA Division One Men's College Cup, held at SAS Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina, December 9-11, 2005. Adding to this honor was his repeat selection for the 2006 NCAA Men's College Cup at the Robert R. Hermann Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri, December 1-3, 2006. For an unprecedented third consecutive time, he was summoned for the 2007 NCAA Men's College Cup on December 14th-16th, again at SAS Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina (now known as WakeMed Soccer Park). In this tournament, he was assigned to the center for the tense semi-final game between the two great ACC rivals, Virginia Tech and eventual national champion Wake Forest University.

Here Gorin is seen officiating in the Premier Division of the USSR Professional Football League in 1991, during a contest between the super clubs Dinamo Kiev and Spartak Moscow. He has been quoted as saying that these matches were nothing in comparison to the level and intensity he presides over today in the impressive Los Angeles Premier League.
